Half over/ Half Left

Okay, a short note congratulating everyone on making it to the midpoint of the year. (July 2nd) Hasn't it been an exciting ride? So, I thought I had better blog for a moment, thinking I will bring all of you up to date, knowing in fact that life is so complex that this text will only be a snapshot of the moment which too quickly passes. Time has been passing extremely fast. I stepped off the tour bus (actually out of the equipment truck) in may after a week of tour with the institute and started school. Yup, school. I decided to go back to school because it seemed right. It has been a long time since I have been a student. Things have changed. Here it is July and only last monday did I actually sit in front of a live teacher. Until this point classes where online or broadcast. One class, my instructor was in Vernal. The other, I have no idea where they are... I took the final for my first class yesterday. Crazy. They call them proctored finals. You call the University or other source to monitor you while you take the test. Well, USU Logan, (As opposed to usu vernal, ogden, brigham city, salt lake, layton, st. george, etc etc etc) only had 30 minute spots available. So, I had to call to USU Brigham city to schedule a larger block of time to take the final. I walk to campus, yet had to drive 45 minutes to take the final. Go figure! Today I am in part two of a midterm for a second class and then the rest of July will be the intense completion of my first semester back. I am unclear whether I will keep this up or not, too many external factors have to play into the story. But! Here's to A's. (I hope to keep it up long enough to have free tickets to football, maybe Basketball!
Karen is healing from a back injury. We walk a lot.
In fact, we picked up Daniel from work at the Carter Grill of Logan last night. Then, we all walked up to the stadium to watch fireworks. That was great. We sat right under them. Ashes, paper packaging falling from the sky as we watched the explosions. It was great. Then we lingered, Had Gilatos with strawberry's courtesy of Larry and Roxy, then walked home. It was delightful.
Now, to finish my midterm.
Oh, by the way, Karen and I went to see Peter Cetera thursday night. That was great. I love his music and his high tensioned voice. He performed with orchestra and an acoustic band. So, in place of electric guitars, six and 12 string guitars. Instead of drums, congas and a huge djembe. The conductor of the orchestra (a local orchestra) was David Roth, of Manheim Steamroller fame. It has a few rough edges, (from incorporating a local orchestra), but very enjoyable for Chicago fans.
Well, I've wandered enough. The highlight of the week would have to be Kristina's twin webkinz lions. Kristina and I sat and gave voices to a collection of her animals the other day. The mamma elephant and the baby elephant, the giraffe, and then the twin lions. They were so adamant that they were not alike, yet every word one said, the other would say the exact same thing.
