Moon Dog

I came home yesterday from a day of art and adventure in SLC/Springville and looked heavenward and saw one of my favorite celestial signs, a moon dog. A moon dog is a huge circle around the moon on a clear starry night. When you see a moon dog, it signals rain/snow within two or three days. The news tonight said, slight chance of rain. Well, I woke up this morning to streets that were freshly watered. Today it is windy and a storm seems to be blowing in. My money is on a moon dog any day. Btw, I spent the day with Grant Lund, (Gerald Lund's older brother) and Brenda Sun of Little Bloomsbury. We had personal tours of some of Utah's finer art. Our final destination being Springville and it's openning exhibit. On the way home, I was told Gerald Lund's story from his brother. It was a fun story to hear. I learned how Gerald Lund got into writing, his over the top request to his financier (in hopes of discouraging the project that would becomer the Work and the Glory), how he ghost wrote love letters for a fellow missionary who wanted to capture the heart of a girl back home, but didn't have the writing abilities to swoon her, (Gerald latter married this same girl). Was reintroduced to the drama that few experience known as "churh committees". It was an entertaining day. Speaking of "church committtees", we stopped at a stain glass workshop at Thanksgiving point to look at he process of blowing glass and making stain glass windows. We watched and touched windows that were being made for the Hawaii temple and saw designs and reviews of glass windows being created for the Rome temple. A delightful artisan from Argentina shared with us the process, and ironically, inserted the "church committee" line into the equation. A one year process usually gets extended to two because of the "CC" process. Someday, when we are all in good spirits, I'll share my conspiracy theory with you. Only for laughs...
